Installing Hunter 4025 or Meta Hunter

In this blog post, we will show you how to reinstall a Hunter 4025 or a Meta Hunter.

If you already have an existing programme, please also take a look at the blog on data backup or restore.

1.) Deactivate virus protection

If you have a virus protection programme other than Windows' own, you will need to contact the manufacturer to find out how to temporarily deactivate the "real-time protection" and later on to file the exception.

In the taskbar, go to the bottom right and click on the up arrow to display the additional icons. Then click on the "shield", which stands for Windows security.

 Go to the "Virus & Threat Protection".

Then in the paragraph Settings for Virus & Threat Protection click on "Manage settings".

 There you switch off the real-time protection. Now minimise this window, it will be needed again later.

2.) Installing the software

Now connect the USB stick on which the software is located or find the setup file that you downloaded from us. The dongle must also be in one of the USB ports.

 Now start the Meta Hunter setup file with a double click. Follow the setup wizard as shown in the pictures:

 Accept the user account control message with "Yes". Complete the installation with the "Finish" button.

 3.) Checking / Creating the Virus Protection Exception

 
Now open the Windows security settings again, which you minimised before.

There click on "Add or remove exclusions".

You should still see the exception for the Meta Hunter folder.
If you are not sure whether the correct path is stored or no exception is stored, proceed as follows:

Right-click on the Meta Hunter icon on the desktop and click on "Open file path".

Now click in the address bar at the top and copy the link.
